Liberty Union is 2-8 against Teays Valley since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Liberty Union Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Teays Valley Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Liberty Union ended up a good deal behind Fairfield Union and lost 53-34. Liberty Union has not had much luck with Fairfield Union recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Liberty Union had strong showings from Tomas Winter, who scored 15 points, and Noah Shook, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals. Landon Piccirillo was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Teays Valley came up short against Bishop Hartley on Monday and fell 60-52. While losing is never fun, Teays Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Bishop Hartley is ranked 29th).
Liberty Union now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Teays Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
