Valor Christian has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Columbine Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Valor Christian can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Monday. They put the hurt on Doherty with a sharp 78-56 win. Given Valor Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Spartans are ranked 41st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Valor Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Quinn Vansickle, who scored 18 points along with eight assists and four steals. Vansickle is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games she's played. Rylie Beers was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, everything went Columbine's way against the Tigers on Saturday as the Rebels made off with a 73-47 victory.
Valor Christian pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Columbine, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Valor Christian against the Rebels in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 83-44 victory. With Valor Christian ahead 50-22 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
