The Bloomfield Bees were the 48-45 winner over the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Bloomfield had to suffer through a rough 78-46 loss at the hands of Laurel-Concord-Coleridge. Bloomfield was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-21.
When it comes to explaining why Bloomfield lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Madison Abbenhaus. Despite the final result, she scored 32 points. The matchup was Abbenhaus' eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kora Poppe, who scored six points.
Bloomfield has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Bloomfield and Wausa will round out the year against one another at 2:00 p.m. on December 29th at. Wausa is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will be home for the holidays to greet Archbishop Bergan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Archbishop Bergan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is ranked 35th).
