One thing working in Hillcrest Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches.
Hillcrest Christian can now show off 14 landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Porter's Chapel Academy as Hillcrest Christian made off with a 66-43 win. The score was close at the half, but Hillcrest Christian pulled away in the second half with 37 points.
Hillcrest Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Eric Bass out in front who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bass has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Severe McNeary, who scored ten points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Franklin Academy earned a 50-40 victory over St. Martinville on Wednesday. The victory was just what Franklin Academy needed coming off of a 71-42 defeat in their prior contest.
Hillcrest Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Franklin Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Hillcrest Christian took their win against Franklin Academy in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 59-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hillcrest Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
