The Whitney Young Dolphins put another one in the bag on Sunday to keep their perfect season alive. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 46-45 win over Lyons. 46 seems to be a good number for Whitney Young as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Whitney Young to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kiaya Johnson, who scored 12 points along with 5 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least 25% of Whitney Young's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Jackson, who scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds.
Whitney Young's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Lyons, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.
Whitney Young is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Taft at 6:30 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully Taft focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Thursday. As for Lyons, they will be playing at home against Oak Park-River Forest at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Park-River Forest comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
