The Dickson County Cougars waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against West Creek by a score of 44-37. That's another feather in the cap for Dickson County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Dickson County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leelee Fernandez, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fernandez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Saine, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Dickson County's win bumped their record up to 7-19. As for West Creek, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dickson County will take on Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Tennessee (Dickson County is ranked 303rd, while Northeast is ranked 321st). As for West Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Springfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Springfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Tuesday.
