On Friday, The Whitewater Wildcats got themselves on the board against the Riverdale Raiders, but the Riverdale Raiders never followed suit. They really took it to the Raiders for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-0 win on the road. Given Whitewater's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 188th, while Riverdale is ranked 396th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Whitewater to victory were Gavin Owen and Corey Richardson. Owen rushed for 52 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, while Richardson gained 58 total yards and two touchdowns.
Whitewater is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Riverdale, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Whitewater will look to defend their home field on Friday against Starr's Mill at 7:30 p.m. Starr's Mill is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Riverdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
