Robinson barely beat ESTEM the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Robinson's pitcher stepped up to hand ESTEM a 17-0 shutout on Monday. The Senators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by eight runs or more this season.
Ashley Miller made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since March 3rd. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Mady Hokams was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. She has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Katelyn Welter also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Robinson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .722. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The victory made it two in a row for Robinson and bumps their season record up to 9-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for ESTEM, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the loss, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Looking ahead, Robinson will challenge Jessieville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for ESTEM, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mills University Studies at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
