The River Valley Dust Devils will challenge the Chino Valley Cougars at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
River Valley came out on top against Somerton on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Dust Devils put the hurt on the Toros with a sharp 10-2 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Dust Devils, who have now won eight contests in a row.

The team relied heavily on Jeremiah Putt, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaige Geyer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Chino Valley got the win against Winslow on Monday by a conclusive 14-3. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Destry Owings was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ryan Lamotte and Jacob Boivin did most of the damage at the plate: Lamotte went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Boivin went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Lamotte has launched this season. Caden Doak was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Chino Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matchups.
Chino Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for River Valley, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. River Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Chino Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .335. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went River Valley's way against Chino Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as River Valley made off with a 16-6 victory. Do the Dust Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
