The Shawnee Mission North Bison's five-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They had just enough and edged West out 49-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Shawnee Mission North has posted yet this season.
When it comes to explaining why West lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jalen Foy. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Noonoo, who scored ten points.
West struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Shawnee Mission North's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for West, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Shawnee Mission North will head out on the road to challenge Highland Park at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Highland Park is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. West won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lawrence at 2:00 p.m. on January 19th. Lawrence is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
