In what's become a running theme this season, the Southside Seahawks gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 52-21 victory over Jones. The victory was just what Southside needed coming off of a 50-30 loss in their prior game.
Tamya Smith was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. I'Kiriyah Minor was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Southside's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-9. As for Jones, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.
Southside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jones, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lejeune at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Jones is on a five-game streak of home losses, Lejeune a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
