West Valley is a perfect 10-0 against Perris since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. West Valley will look to defend their home field against Perris at 3:15 p.m. West Valley will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Last Thursday, West Valley came up short against Citrus Hill and fell 18-15. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (13), the Mustangs still had to take the loss.
Deonys Ioane was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with one home run, two triples, and three runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Jennah Murphy, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Even though they lost, West Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .425. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Perris, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over Sherman Indian on Thursday.
Hannah Harper made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Harper was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Kimberly Santoyo was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. Trinity Martinez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
West Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Perris, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
West Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Perris when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 22-21. Will West Valley repeat their success, or does Perris has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
