Maryvale is on a five-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), North a four-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Maryvale Panthers will take on the North Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Maryvale comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Maryvale struggled with assists on Monday (Red Mountain had 17 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Maryvale had to suffer through a rough 66-8 loss at the hands of Red Mountain. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Maryvale has scored all season.
Dalia Valdez was Maryvale's leading scorer, having posted four points.
Meanwhile, North came up short against Skyline on Monday and fell 52-45.
Maryvale's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for North, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Maryvale was dealt a bruising 60-19 defeat at the hands of North when the teams last played back in January. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Maryvale was down 37-8.
