The First Coast Christian Knights will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Old Plank Christian Academy Defenders at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
First Coast Christian had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Hope Christian Academy with a sharp 48-24 victory on Friday. The win was just what First Coast Christian needed coming off of a 54-34 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Old Plank Christian Academy came tearing into Monday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Eagle's View and snuck past 40-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Old Plank Christian Academy has posted yet this season.
It was another big night for Jenna Jiannuzzi, who scored nine points along with 22 rebounds and three blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Jenkins, who scored 14 points.
First Coast Christian's win bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Old Plank Christian Academy, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2.
First Coast Christian was taken down by Old Plank Christian Academy 59-13 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point First Coast Christian was down 46-6.
