Jude Fulks was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-5. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Mason Howell and Jayden Stone did most of the damage at the plate: Howell scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Stone scored a run while going 3-for-3. Howell is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged three or more in each of the last three games he's played. McCoy Morgan also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Atherton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Villa Madonna only posted a batting average of .120.
Atherton's record is now 3-1. As for Villa Madonna, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Coming up, Atherton will face off against Seneca at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Villa Madonna, they have already played their next game, a 5-0 victory against Trimble County on the 22nd.
