Clermont Northeastern has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Georgetown G-Men at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Clermont Northeastern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Clermont Northeastern didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Fayetteville-Perry, but they still walked away with a 39-35 win.
Clermont Northeastern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Connor Yeager led the charge by scoring eight points along with 14 rebounds and two blocks. Yeager is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Symon Mattes was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Georgetown unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 55-45 to Williamsburg. Georgetown has struggled against Williamsburg recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Clermont Northeastern's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Georgetown, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7.
Clermont Northeastern strolled past Georgetown when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 46-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clermont Northeastern since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
