This season hasn't been kind to the Houlka Wildcats, who are still winless after their 12th contest. They fell 41-33 to Potts Camp on Friday. Houlka lost against Potts Camp in their previous head to head back in January of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 60-30 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Houlka had strong showings from Olivia Halford, who scored 16 points along with four steals, and Madison Martin, who scored six points along with ten rebounds. The matchup was Halford's third in a row with at least ten points.
Houlka bumped their record down to 0-12 with that defeat, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.5 points per game. As for Potts Camp, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
Houlka is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Vardaman at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Potts Camp will be home for the holidays to greet North Pontotoc at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Pontotoc presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Potts Camp in Mississippi (North Pontotoc is ranked 43rd, while Potts Camp is ranked 207th).
