The River Valley Panthers will be playing at home against the Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. River Valley will stroll in with a five game home winning streak, but they should still watch out: the last time they lost at home was their January 10 matchup with Conemaugh Valley.
Even though Marion Center scored an imposing 57 points on Thursday, River Valley still came out on top. River Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against the Stingers and snuck past 60-57.
River Valley found their leader in underclassman Jeremy Reed, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. It was the first time this season that Reed scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Woodring, who scored ten points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, Conemaugh Valley came up short against the Colts on Thursday and fell 54-45. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Conemaugh Valley has scored all season.
River Valley is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Conemaugh Valley, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-3.
River Valley couldn't quite finish off the Blue Jays when the teams last played back in January and fell 62-59. Can River Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
