Basketball Recap: 21st Century Charter Skates Past Laville with Ease

LaVille typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday 21st Century Charter proved too difficult a challenge. They breezed past the LaVille Lancers to the tune of 75-41. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 22 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Terrence Hayes, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten boards. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least 16 points. Lemetrius Williams was another key player, en route to 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

21st Century Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, LaVille still got an impressive performance from Collin Czarnecki, who on his way to 27 points and six boards. That was a full 65.9% of LaVille's points, marking the seventh time in a row Czarnecki has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lance Edison, who scored six points and six rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for 21st Century Charter and bumps their season record up to 15-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.5 points. As for LaVille, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

Looking ahead, 21st Century Charter will head out to challenge Kankakee Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for LaVille, they will face off against South Bend Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. LaVille is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season.
