The Wayne Blue Devils were the 39-34 winner over the Boone Central Cardinals when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Wayne took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Boone Central on Saturday. Wayne has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Wayne had strong showings from Gabbi Judd, who scored ten points, and Taytem Ellis, who scored four points.
Wayne's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 5-10. As for Boone Central, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will face off on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Laurel-Concord-Coleridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday. Boone Central and Lincoln Christian will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lincoln Christian will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
