Cypress Bay is 9-1 against Flanagan since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cypress Bay Lightning will take on the Flanagan Falcons at 6:00  p.m. Both come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
While Cypress Bay's  win against South Plantation wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Cypress Bay sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  6-5  victory over South Plantation  on Thursday. The Lightning haven't had any issues with the Paladins recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive  win against them.

 Lexi Groenendijk was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out six batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   five  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  runs and one  triple. That  triple marked the first that  she  hit this season.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Allena Dinneen, who  went 3-for-4 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.  Teresa Foschia was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Flanagan). They blew past Miramar 19-4 on Wednesday.
Like Cypress Bay, Flanagan also got a great game from a two-way player:  Jurnee Bent. She  struck out nine batters over  four innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off only  one  hit. With that strong performance,  Bent is now averaging an impressive 5.2  strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with four  RBI and two  runs.
 In other batting news,  Emily Arias was  incredible,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Amy Chacko, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 Flanagan's victory  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 3-3. As for Cypress Bay, their record now sits at 2-4.
 Everything went Cypress Bay's way against Flanagan in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024, as Cypress Bay made off with  a  16-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cypress Bay since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
