The Spartanburg Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 70-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gaffney. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (57), Spartanburg still had to take the loss.
Gaffney was led to victory by Rickey Littlejohn and Markell Hollis. Littlejohn scored 19 points, while Hollis scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Hollis has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times he's played. Londin Bailey was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Spartanburg has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Gaffney, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Boiling Springs the next time they take the court. Gaffney will head out to face Boiling Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Spartanburg will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
