Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Fort Myers

Fort Myers made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Naples, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Green Wave's pitcher stepped up to hand the Golden Eagles a 12-0 shutout on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Green Wave sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Fort Myers got a massive performance out of Michael Magas, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Fleming, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Magas wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Fort Myers kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive matches.

Fort Myers' record now sits at 12-6. As for Naples, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.

Coming up, Fort Myers will welcome Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Fightin' Tarpons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Green Wave's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Naples, they will head out on the road to take on Community School of Naples at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games the Seahawks have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
