It was a good run, but the Oak Ridge Military Academy Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 67-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Durham Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Durham Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JJ Wilcox, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Dorsette II, who scored 18 points.
Oak Ridge Military Academy's loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-4. As for Durham Academy, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Ridge Military Academy will take on Community Baptist at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Durham Academy, they will be playing at home against North Raleigh Christian Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully North Raleigh Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
