The Hickman Kewpies's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Affton Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on January 20th. One thing working in Hickman's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
Hickman can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent game last Thursday. They put the hurt on Eureka with a sharp 55-31 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Hickman has posted since December 19, 2023.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 21-21 at halftime, Affton was not quite Hazelwood Central's equal in the second half on Thursday. Affton fell 43-30 to Hazelwood Central. While losing is never fun, Affton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while Hazelwood Central is ranked 131st).
Anna M daughtry put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 11 points along with seven steals. M daughtry is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Hickman has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Affton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
