Grace Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nate Jones, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 20 points and three steals. Jones' morning made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Graham Moose, who posted nine points in addition to six boards and five assists.
Grace Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cape Fear Christian Academy only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Meanwhile, Chatham HomeSchool strolled past Durham Flight HomeSchool with points to spare last Saturday, taking the game 66-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunder.
Grace Christian better keep an eye on Luke Coletta. He was instrumental in Chatham HomeSchool's win, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Coletta is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Parker Teague, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 15 points.
Grace Christian now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Chatham HomeSchool, their record now sits at 10-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Grace Christian has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Chatham HomeSchool struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Grace Christian strolled past Chatham HomeSchool in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 72-58. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Chatham HomeSchool's Zach Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds.
