The Dunbar Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Meadowdale 68-24. Dunbar was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-11.
Meadowdale was led to victory by Zhieyah Rolack and Janiyah Middlebrook. Rolack dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds, while Middlebrook dropped a double-double on 20 points and 24 rebounds. Rolack is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Jayla Walker was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Dunbar bumped their record down to 3-12 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.9 points per game. As for Meadowdale, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-2.
Dunbar will be playing at home against Thurgood Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Meadowdale, they will head out on the road to square off against Trotwood-Madison at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
