They managed a 59-54 victory over South Harrison. The score was all tied up 26-26 at the break, but Calhoun was the better team in the second half.
Leading Calhoun to victory were Dylan Buckius and Landon Bennett. Buckius scored 21 points along with three steals, while Bennett scored 21 points along with six rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Bennett has scored at least a third of Calhoun's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Jones, who scored five points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Calhoun pushed their record up to 9-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for South Harrison, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
Calhoun will be playing in front of their home fans against Paden City at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Calhoun focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday. As for South Harrison, they will head out on the road to square off against Clay County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in West Virginia (South Harrison is ranked 111th, while Clay County is ranked 117th).
