Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Buckeye

Buckeye strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past the Letcher County Central Cougars 11-3.

Olivia Piovarchy tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cassy Minarchick, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryenne Ford, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Buckeye kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Letcher County Central only managed five.

Buckeye's record is now 3-0. As for Letcher County Central, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Coming up, Buckeye will be playing at home against Westlake at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Letcher County Central, they will head out on the road to square off against Hazard at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
