Cardinal Newman posted their biggest victory since December 5, 2023 on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 65-19 win over the Forest Hill Falcons. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Falcons are ranked 594th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Cardinal Newman to victory were Ava Castro and Noelle Coyne. Castro dropped a double-double on 13 points and 25 boards, while Coyne went 10 for 14 on her way to 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Coyne has scored at least a third of Cardinal Newman's points. Ella Strong was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Cardinal Newman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 19 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Cardinal Newman's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Forest Hill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Cardinal Newman wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 34-29 defeat against John Carroll Catholic on the 16th. As for Forest Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 86-17 loss against Suncoast on the 16th.
