Symmes Valley has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Eastern Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Symmes Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Symmes Valley was the victim of a rough 53-32 defeat at the hands of Northwest.
Despite their loss, Symmes Valley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ethan Smith, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Jacob Cade, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Eastern beat South Gallia 53-49 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Eastern.
Symmes Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Eastern, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Symmes Valley strolled past Eastern in their previous meeting back in February of 2021 by a score of 68-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Symmes Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
