Dublin is 8-0 against the Warriors since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Dublin Fighting Irish will be playing at home against the Jefferson County Warriors at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Dublin's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Warriors have been banged up by 18 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Dublin came up short against the Royals and fell 44-37. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Dublin has scored all season.
Loss or not, Dublin got some senior leadership from Nahallie Turnley and Tahara Diallo. Turnley dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Diallo. scored six points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 59-32, which was the final score in Jefferson County's tilt against the Gamecocks on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Jefferson County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 508th, while the Gamecocks are ranked 170th).
Despite the loss, Jefferson County saw an underclassman step up: Jaelissia Reeves dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 46.9% of Jefferson County's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Dublin's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Jefferson County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-20.
Everything came up roses for Dublin against the Warriors in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 65-20 win. With Dublin ahead 38-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
