The Yorktown Tigers suffered their closest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of New Castle by a score of 66-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (61), Yorktown still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Yorktown still got an impressive performance from Kieran Tewari, who scored 19 points along with six assists. Connor Rowray was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Yorktown's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for New Castle, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yorktown will face off against Winchester Community at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Castle won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wapahani at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Wapahani focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Friday.
