The Carroll Chargers will square off against the NorthWood Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carroll will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
On Monday, Carroll got the win against Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran by a conclusive 3-0.
Carroll never let Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-22, 25-11.
Carroll can attribute much of their success to Hayden Finefrock, who had eight digs and two aces. That's the most aces Finefrock has posted since September 3rd. Paityn Lauck also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Meanwhile, NorthWood came up short against Northridge on Thursday, falling 3-0.
The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-20, 25-16.
NorthWood's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Carroll, their win bumped their record up to 23-0.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Carroll has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8 aces per game. However, it's not like NorthWood struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Carroll was able to grind out a solid victory over NorthWood when the teams last played back in August of 2024, winning 2-0. Do the Chargers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
