On Friday, the Centennial Bulldogs faced the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Centennial walked away with a 57-49 win over Cimarron-Memorial. That's another feather in the cap for Centennial, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Malcolm Wilson was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Iwuoha, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Centennial now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Cimarron-Memorial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centennial is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Liberty at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Cimarron-Memorial and Western will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Western will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Cimarron-Memorial is ranked 17th).
