The Shenandoah Raiders will venture away from home to take on the Cowan Blackhawks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Shenandoah lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Adams Central, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's contest. The Raiders never let the Flying Jets get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Wednesday. The victory was just business as usual for the Raiders, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

05/13/24 @ Rushville | 3 |
05/16/24 @ Wes-Del | 2 |
05/11/24 vs Lapel | 2 |
05/06/24 @ Hagerstown | 2 |
Tarran Mills was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Kaelyn Castor was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.
Shenandoah always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Adams Central only posted an OBP of .062.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Cowan and Muncie Central, and Cowan kept the tradition alive. The Blackhawks put the hurt on the Bearcats with a sharp 15-0 win on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Blackhawks in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now won six in a row.
Savannah Hall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Hall was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taylor Young, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. She also hit two doubles, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Madison Norris, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Shenandoah's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Cowan, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4.
Cowan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Shenandoah hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .427. It's a different story for Cowan, though, as they've only averaged .218. Will they be able to contain Shenandoah's hitters?
Everything went Shenandoah's way against Cowan in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Shenandoah made off with a 13-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
