Crest has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Kings Mountain Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Crest has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 458 points over their last nine matches.
Crest put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 49-3 win over Huss. Given Crest's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Huss is ranked 134th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Crest's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Aiden Carson, who rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown, and Ny?tavious Huskey, who threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns. Javarius Green was in the mix as well, providing Crest with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Kings Mountain put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Ashbrook as Kings Mountain made off with a 24-3 win. The result was nothing new for Kings Mountain, who have now won six games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Kings Mountain can attribute much of their success to Josiah Hill, who rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Hill is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played.
Crest's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Stuart W. Cramer and 1-8 Forestview (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.8% over those games). As for Kings Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: Crest has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 496.7 total yards per game. It's a different story for Kings Mountain, though, as they've been averaging only 177.9 per game. Will Crest be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will Kings Mountain flip the ?
Crest ended up a good deal behind Kings Mountain when the teams last played back in October of 2022, losing 35-20. Can Crest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
