The Searcy Lions''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 47-14 win over Greene County Tech. The result was nothing new for Searcy, who have now won three matches by 33 points or more so far this season.
Tyler Strickland continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 285 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Strickland was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Curtis Goodrich, who gained 140 total yards and two touchdowns.
Searcy's victory was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 5-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.8 points per game. As for Greene County Tech, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Searcy will head out on the road to face off against Benton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Benton will be hoping to continue their five-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for Greene County Tech, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against West Memphis at 7:00 p.m. West Memphis is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
