After flying high against the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders on Saturday, the Arapahoe Warriors came back down to earth. Arapahoe received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 50-33 to Medicine Valley. Arapahoe was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Medicine Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Arapahoe's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Clara Hilker, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds, and Mckenzie Ewoldt who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds. Hilker scored a full 39.4% of Arapahoe's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Among those leading the charge was Stella Heapy, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 10 rebounds. Heapy is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Sienna Houghtelling was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 11 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Arapahoe now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Medicine Valley, their win bumped their record up to an identical 1-2.
Arapahoe will head out on the road to face off against Wilcox-Hildreth at 5:30 p.m. on December 14th. As for Medicine Valley, they will be playing at home against Hitchcock County at 6:15 p.m. on December 14th.
