The East Peoria Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 57-34 walloping at the hands of Normal West. The result was an unpleasant reminder to East Peoria of the 57-53 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Normal West was led to victory by CJ Wilson and Isaiah Robinson. Wilson scored 12 points along with six rebounds, while Robinson scored 20 points. Wilson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Zaleski, who scored six points along with two steals.
East Peoria has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season. As for Normal West, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Peoria is on the road again on Friday and plays Metamora at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Metamora will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something East Peoria surely won't give up without a fight. As for Normal West, they will head out on the road to face off against Bloomington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
