The Harker Eagles''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 54-6 loss at the hands of Priory. Harker was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-6.
Leading Priory to victory were Everett Miller and Hudson Karnes. Miller picked up 117 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Karnes threw for 264 yards and six touchdowns on only 13 passes.
Harker's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-1 California School for the Deaf (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 66.7% over those games). As for Priory, the win was the fourth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harker will square off against Trinity Christian at 2:00 p.m. on October 28th. Trinity Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Priory, they will head out on the road to face off against Crystal Springs Uplands at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Crystal Springs Uplands is ranked 33rd, while Priory is ranked 15th).
