Elmira Free Academy/Southside was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Horseheads. Elmira Free Academy/Southside came in at 20 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
Mike Kessler's team added to the longest winning streak in Section 4 AA/A Division I this week by beating the Blue Raiders, 56-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Corning's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Hawks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Sam Crusha has thrown for 53 yards this season, while Gabe Enicks has 2 catches for 69 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Binghamton takes on Union-Endicott. As it stands, the Patriots are in second, while the Tigers are in fourth.
Binghamton made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,075 from 2,359. The improvement was largely due to a 14-13 victory over Vestal last week.
