The Hillcrest Jaguars extended their postseason success on Saturday against the Houston Academy Raiders. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 76-66. The win was nothing new for Hillcrest as they're now sitting on 11 straight.
Hillcrest got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jermonte Stallworth out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten assists. Stallworth continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Simpson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Hillcrest's lineup was just a bit different on Saturday as Dorian Watson got a bit more time on the court (28 vs. his season average of 14.11). Watson made the most of the opportunity, scoring five points. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Hillcrest pushed their record up to 26-4 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for Houston Academy, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-5.
Hillcrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Houston Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
