Given Weston Ranch's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Titans are ranked 738th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Weston Ranch got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Shaanveer Natt out in front who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 4 assists. Natt has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Mateen Rafiq, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Franklin took a serious blow against the Bruins on Friday, falling 87-26.
Weston Ranch's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-3. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 46.6 points. As for Franklin, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 13 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 1-24 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Weston Ranch against the Yellowjackets in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 113-21 win. With Weston Ranch ahead 63-13 at the half, the game was all but over already.
