Oswego East moved up to 199 from 277 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Southwest Prairie. The Wolves were able to make the jump by beating the Wolves 50-29.
Oswego was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in the league. The Panthers beat Oswego East 50-29 earlier in the week.
Oswego's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brett Wainwright threw for 127 and one touchdown and Jack Kwiatkowski had 68 yards receiving. On the ground Mickeel Stewart chipped in 147 yards. Stewart helped Oswego's passing attack out by catching one ball for 43 yards.
Oswego's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wainwright has thrown for 554 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Kwiatkowski has 14 catches for 342 yards. Stewart leads the league in rushing with 530 yards.
A big matchup in Southwest Prairie this week will be when Mark Green's team takes on Plainfield Central. As it stands, the Wolves are in fourth, while the Wildcats are in third.
Plainfield North extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Plainfield Central, 28-7. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Tigers.
