East St. Louis has gone 8-2 against O'Fallon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Flyers will welcome the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. East St. Louis knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully O'Fallon likes a good challenge.
East St. Louis is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Belleville East: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Flyers blew the Lancers out of the water with a 55-7 final score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-7.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Myson Johnson-Cook and Amir Tillman. Johnson-Cook rushed for 163 yards and two TDs on only seven carries while Tillman rushed for 44 yards and three scores. Johnson-Cook has become a key player for East St. Louis: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Ronnie Gomiller was in the mix too, providing the Flyers with two touchdowns.
East St. Louis was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 237 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 170 rushing yards in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

East St. Louis' defense made their presence known, laying out the QB six times. Belleville East's QB won't forget James Bryant anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Bryant also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 12. East St. Louis got some further help from Jahadi White: he picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (7.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, after soaring to 46 points the game before, O'Fallon was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They had to suffer through a 35-3 loss at the hands of Edwardsville. The Panthers have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
East St. Louis pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.3 points on average over those games. As for O'Fallon, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Everything came up roses for East St. Louis against O'Fallon in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-0 victory. Do the Flyers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
