The DeKalb County Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 71-37 loss at the hands of White County. DeKalb County has not had much luck with White County recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead White County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Jones, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Jones is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 22 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Celeste Reed, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.
DeKalb County's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-12. As for White County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 22-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DeKalb County on the road again on Tuesday and play against Cumberland County at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Cumberland County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for White County, they will head out on the road to square off against Stone Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stone Memorial will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while White County is ranked 12th).
