After having lost a blowout in their game two weeks ago against Poteau, Fort Gibson were happy to find some success last Friday. Fort Gibson dodged a bullet last Friday, finishing off Muldrow 21-20. Junior Tavien Woodworth, who rushed for 226 yards and 3 touchdowns, was a major factor in Fort Gibson's success. This marked the 3rd game in which Woodworth has rushed for over 100 yards.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 42 points the game before, Sallisaw faltered in their contest last Friday. They were completely outmatched, falling 6-49 to Hilldale. Sallisaw were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-42.
Fort Gibson's win lifted them to 2-4 while Sallisaw's loss dropped them down to 1-5. The Fort Gibson defense got after the quarterback against Muldrow to the tune of four sacks, so Sallisaw's offensive line better have put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the matchup.
