Softball Recap: Celebration Has No Trouble Against Gateway

Celebration won the last time they faced Gateway and things went their way on Friday too. The Storm blew past the Panthers 20-8. The result was nothing new for the Storm, who have now won six matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Celebration got a massive performance out of Valeria Castellano, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Briar Kraft was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Celebration always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .780. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .528 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Celebration's record now sits at 7-8. As for Gateway, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Celebration and Gateway could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Storm will face off against Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (428 vs. 127). Meanwhile, Gateway (ranked 442nd) will meet Satellite (ranked 170th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
