Chandler Prep has gone a perfect 5-0 against Leading Edge Academy - GEC recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Titans will head out to face off against the Spartans at 2:30 p.m. Chandler Prep has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Chandler Prep fell victim to Morenci and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 15-0 to the Wildcats. The Titans' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Chandler Prep saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Giada Lowman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Leading Edge Academy - GEC made sure to put some runs up on the board against San Carlos on Monday. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 29-9 margin over the Braves. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Corynn Foster, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Collins, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Leading Edge Academy - GEC always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .776. They are 6-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Chandler Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Leading Edge Academy - GEC, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-8.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Chandler Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .545. However, it's not like Leading Edge Academy - GEC struggles in that department as they've averaged .582. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Chandler Prep's way against Leading Edge Academy - GEC when the teams last played back in March, as Chandler Prep made off with a 17-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
